Oswego (Ill.) sophomore quarterback recruit Steven Frank (6-foot-4, 200 pounds) made an impact this past season for the Panthers and that impact has continued this summer. Frank added his first scholarship offer and talks about it here. First.
"We had our team camp last week at Illinois State," Frank said. "The Illinois State coaches watched me quite a bit and they said they are impressed with me and wanted to offer me a scholarship."
Frank, who started for the Panthers as a freshman in 2012 talked about adding his first offer from the ISU Redbirds.
"I'm really excited and this is my first offer so it's even more special. I never expected to get an offer this early to be honest. Illinois State has a really nice campus. I didn't see much outside of the dorms and the football facilities because they kept us close together the whole camp. I really like the coaches and it's just exciting to have an offer from Illinois State."
Frank was also impressive at the Illinois one day camp at Lincoln-Way East back in early June.
"I liked the Illinois camp. They had a lot of kids at that camp and the competition level was really high. The Illinois quarterbacks coach (Bill Cubit) said that I had a really good camp. I also camped at Arkansas and that was another great experience. I'm planning to camp later this month at Tennessee and that will do it for this summer. I'm also working hard with my team and we have some 7 on 7's coming up soon."
So does Frank have a dream school?
"I love the SEC and I would love to play in the SEC someday. I watch the conference on TV as much as I can and they are they best conference in the country. My goal is to play at the highest level in college and it doesn't get much better than the SEC."
