Oak Park (Ill.) Fenwick junior defensive back prospect Aaron Garland (6-foot-0, 189 pounds) is a name to watch from the ever growing Class of 2015. Garland talks about his season so far along with his latest recruiting news here
"Our season has been going great so far," Garland said. 'We are 3-0 and beating Rice was a big win for us. We honestly expected to win that game and we expect to win every game. Our coaches always expect us to just focus on one game at a time from week to week."
Garland has also been drawing looks and recruiting interest from several schools.
"I've been getting mail and Facebook messages from several schools. Purdue has been pretty interested and I've been in touch with the coaches at Purdue. Western Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Bowling Green and Indiana State have all started to come around and contact me. They have all invited me to college games this season and I'm hoping to get out soon. I just wanted to really focus in on the start of the season. Now that the season and school is going well I'm going to get out to some college games soon."
Garland has a handful of colleges he wants to visit sometime this fall.
"I want to visit games at Purdue, Illinois and also Indiana. I know that I'm going to check out Indiana sometime soon with the Core 6 guys. Illinois made an in school visit with my coaches earlier this week and Purdue is also supposed to be in school soon."
Garland also talked about his favorite school when he was growing up.
"I've always been a BIg Ten kind of guy and I always loved Ohio State as a kid. I went to the Friday Night Lights camp with Core 6 last summer and loved it. They have great coaches and really everything you would ever want as a player. From the stadium and the facilities to just the overall fan support it's pretty impressive. Ohio State would be a really hard school to beat for anyone."
Garland also talked about his strengths on the field and what he wants to work on to improve his overall game.
"I feel I have pretty strong cover skills. I also like to play physical and I love to play run support along with just going to get the football in pass coverage. I definitely feel I can improve on my open field tackling along with being able to just open up my hips better. I just love to play football and want to keep plahing at the highest level possible in college."
