Georgia DT expected in East Lansing soon

The month of January looks to be busy for Jerome Davis as he works towards deciding his college future.

So far Davis, a three-star defensive tackle from Buford (Ga.), has taken one official visit, to West Virginia the weekend of Dec. 4, but he isn't looking closely at the Mountaineers because of the 3-5 scheme they run on defense (he prefers to be part of a 3-4 or 4-3).

That leaves Davis (6-2, 255) with four official visits reaming and he's currently in the process of cementing plans to visit two of his BCS conference suitors, Michigan State and Miami-FL. The Spartans have offered Davis, while the Hurricanes have shown increased interest and Davis believes an offer could be on the way.

"I think they just want to see how big I am and how big I can get," Davis said of Miami.

Davis' visits to East Lansing and Coral Gables should be confirmed this week.

"Michigan State is coming in tomorrow (Wednesday). Miami is coming in on Thursday, I think. And I will set my dates off their stuff," Davis said. "So I'm waiting to see what Miami says about their visit and then I'll do the Michigan State visit."
