Godwin getting looks

Tampa (Fla.) Freedom defensive back Nate Godwin picked up his second scholarship offer this week, and he's hoping there's more on the way.

Godwin, 5-foot-11, 190-pounds is a safety/cornerback that has been offered by both Iowa State and Ball State this spring. A number of schools have stopped by his high school and are in the process of evaluating the junior, including West Virginia.

Erik Slaughter is the lead recruiter for Godwin, and the defensive back just recently had his highlight tape sent to the defensive line coach. He's also spoken to Slaughter, and he's told Godwin that he's being recruited as either a safety or cornerback in the Mountaineers 3-4 scheme, and he's open to either position.
