19 QB Thorne adds WMU offer

Aurora (Ill.) Metea Valley junior quarterback recruit Payton Thorne (6-foot-2, 170 pounds) was able to add his first scholarship recently from Western Michigan. Thorne discusses adding his first offer from the Broncos and much more here.

"I visited Western Michigan a few weeks ago and they offered me a scholarship," Thorne said. "It just feels pretty amazing to add my first offer from Western Michigan."

Thorne talked about his impressions of Western Michigan.

"I visited Western Michigan two weeks ago and it was a really good visit. WMU offered me a scholarship when I was one the visit. I love the staff at Western Michigan and they also have a nice campus and outstanding facilities. I've also known head coach Tim Lester my whole life so getting this offer is pretty special."

Thorne also made a few recent trips .

"I've was able to visit Minnesota three weeks ago and then I visited Penn State two weeks ago. The feedback from both schools has been positive and the coaches at both schools want me to camp with them this summer."

So what's next for Thorne?

"I've been just working hard and getting ready for this summer. I decided to not play high school baseball this summer and I've been focused on adding more strength and also work on my speed. I'm going to a few of the satellite camps at North Central College and also a one-day camp at NIU this summer."

Payton Thorne has a scholarship offer from Western Michigan.
