2019 OL Broeker has camp plans

Springfield (Ill.) Sacred Heart Griffin 2019 offensive tackle prospect Nick Broeker (6-foot-5, 250 pounds) has been drawing several recruiting looks and in school visitors this spring. Broeker is now finished with his junior year of high school and is looking ahead towards a busy summer including some upcoming camp visits.

"We just finished the school year last Friday so I'm on summer vacation now," Broeker said. "We always are one of the first schools to finish early and it feels great to be on summer break now."

Broeker recapped his latest recruiting news.

"I've been in touch with some colleges and several schools made in school visits during the spring. I'm hearing from Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern and also Minnesota this most so far. We also had coaches from Penn State, Miami of Ohio, Indiana State and Western Michigan along with several other MAC schools. The coaches all want to see me at a camp this summer."

Broeker has also set up his college summer college camps plans.

"I'm going to the Northwestern camp on June 4th. I'm also planning to go to the North Central College one day camp that will feature the coaches from Missouri and Wyoming. I'm also set to camp at NIU on June 14th, Illinois on June 16th and then Iowa on June 25th."

Does Broeker have a dream school?

My Dad (John Broeker) played for Northwestern as a defensive end from 1987 to 1990 so we always went to Northwestern for games. My grandparents also are big Iowa fans and graduates so we also went to games with them. I guess you can say I'm a Big Ten kind of guy."

Broeker is also excited to get back on the field this fall with the Cyclones.

"The expectations at Sacred Heart Griffin is always the same and that's winning a state title. We will be ready to go and I'm really excited for the season."
