ATH Brown is in demand

Chicago (IL) Simeon (4-3) junior athlete recruit Alante Brown (5-foot-10, 170 pounds) has led the Wolverines to four straight wins after Simeon had a rough 0-3 start to the 2017 season. Brown has also drawn steady recruiting looks this fall and recaps his season and latest recruiting news here.

"It was rough for the first few games but we've been able to turn things around," Brown said. "We beat ourselves in games and just made a lot of mistakes. We started playing better and we are playing much better now."

Brown was able to make a college visit on Saturday.

"I was able to make a visit to NIU last weekend when they played Kent State. I had a good time at NIU and I was able to see all the pregame and I also was able to talk to all of the coaches at NIU. NIU offered me a while ago so it was good to just go up and see everything including seeing the game day atmosphere at NIU which was good."

Brown has also been in touch with an increasing number of schools this fall.

"Besides NIU I'm still in touch with most of the MAC schools along with some Big Ten schools now. Michigan State and Minnesota have been in touch more along with Illinois. Cincinnati has also started to send mail and text. Toledo and Central Michigan already offered me and they want me to visit. Most of the schools I've talked to want me to come out to see a game."

Does Brown have ant additional college game day visits planned?

"I'm planning to visit Illinois this weekend. Illinois has been in touch a lot and I'm excited to go visit them. I want to get out and see ore schools but it gets harder once the state playoffs get here because you don't know when you play from week to week."

Brown is also excited for the Wolverines potential in the post-season if Simeon can quality.

"First we need to get into the playoffs but we have a lot of athletes and we also have a lot of speed. Once we get going we can be pretty touch and a lot of people will overlook us because of our record."

Alante Brown has scholarship offers from NIU, Toledo and Central Michigan.
