ATH McPherson draws more looks

Aurora (Ill.) Marmion Academy junior quarterback/athlete prospect Brandon McPherson (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) is a talented multi-sport athlete for the Cadets who has seen a steady increase in his football recruiting process so far this spring. McPherson checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news here.

"Football recruiting has gone well," McPherson said. "I've been busy with baseball this spring but I've also been able to get out to visit some colleges in person. We are also seeing more college coaches in school lately."

McPherson was able to recently get out to visit a handful of in-state schools over his recent spring break.

"I visited SIU and then I followed that visit up with visits to Illinois State, Western Illinois and Northern Illinois. Over the past few weeks I have been visited by the coaches from Iowa, Illinois, Wyoming, Western Michigan and Ball State. SIU, South Dakota and Illinois State also stopped by to check in with me. All of those schools said they would really like to work me out this summer at their camps to see what other positions I could play to best fit the team. Most of the schools like me at quarterback but they also feel if I don't play that position they could use me elsewhere because of my size."

McPherson is hoping to get out to some college camps this summer.

"I have a few conflicts right now because of my baseball schedule but I'm working on finalizing it. All of those schools have shown a good amount of interest. I'm checking the camp schedules and also seeing who continues to reach out since I will most likely miss a baseball showcase to attend a football camp."
