Broeker is eyeing spring for visits
Springfield (IL) Sacred Heart Griffin three star ranked junior offensive tackle prospect Nick Broeker (6-foot-5, 250 pounds) is in the middle of his basketball season this winter but Broeker has also been keeping tabs on his football recruiting. Broeker runs down his latest offers and much more in this update.
"I've been staying busy between school and basketball season," Broeker said. "Football recruiting has also been going really well for me. I have 8 offers now plus I'm also hearing from several new schools."
Broeker filled us in on his latest scholarship offers and recruiting suitors.
"I have offers now from Illinois, Miami of Ohio, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Ball State, Kent State plus NIU and SIU. I've also been in touch with the coaches from Minnesota, Kentucky, Iowa, Purdue, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, Missouri and Cincinnati."
Has Broeker been able to make any recent college visits?.
"My last visit was to NIU maybe 2-3 weeks ago. It's starting to get closer to playoff time for basketball so I'll be staying closer to home until after basketball season ends. I'm definitely planning to get out this spring to make some visits. I'm interesting in getting out to see Kentucky sometime soon."
So has all of the scholarship offers and recruiting attention come as a surprise to Broeker?
"I guess I just didn't know to expect. SIU was my first offer and it seemed like once they offered me a lot of other offers came pretty quick. It's been pretty exciting and it feels great."
So what is Broeker looking for in a potential college to call home?
"I'm looking for a place where I feel at home and comfortable. I'm looking for a school where I can trust the coaches outside of football. Also I want to find a school that offers strong academics."
