Brown recaps Michigan State visit
Chicago (IL) Simeon junior athlete recruit Alante Brown (5-foot-10, 170 pounds) made a recent visit to Michigan State. Brown, who was one of several standouts at Monday's EDGYTIM Underclassmen Showcase powered by EFT Football Academy recaps his recruiting and more here.
"I was able to make a visit to Michigan State back on Saturday," Brown said. "I've also been starting to hear from some new schools and it seems like my recruiting is picking up again."
Brown discussed his impressions after his first ever visit to Michigan State.
"I just had a real good visit to Michigan State on Saturday. I was able to talk to three different coaches on Saturday and I spent a lot of time with the quarterback coach (Brad Salem). Coach Salem talked about what he looks for in a quarterback. The Michigan State coaches also talked about the importance of character and the importance of how we carry ourselves on and off the field. Coach (Mark) Dantonio also came in and gave a good speech, then we watched a highlight video before we took the buses over to the basketball game."
So did anything stand out to Brown on his Michigan State visit?
"I really liked the facilities at Michigan State. I didn't get to see a lot of the campus but we saw a lot of the football facilities and everything was really nice. I also like the coaches at Michigan State. They all seem like good guys and I just enjoyed getting to know them."
So who else has been showing recruiting attention towards Brown these days?
"Besides the schools who have offered me already (NIU, Toledo and Central Michigan) I've started to hear now from Army and Minnesota. West Virginia also started following me right after your showcase ended on Monday. I also stay in touch with both Minnesota and Central Florida. "
Does Brown have any upcoming visit plans?
"Not yet. Minnesota wants me to come up for a Junior Day event and I'd like to get up there sometime soon but I have nothing set just yet."
Alante Brown has scholarship offers from NIU, Toledo and Central Michigan.
