Calcagno is excited for rivalry game

Naperville (Ill.) North senior wide receiver recruit Nick Calcagno (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) is having a strong senior season for the Huskies (4-2). Calcagno recaps his latest recruiting news and much more in this update.

"We've lost two tough, close games back to back so it's time to turn things around this week," Calcagno said. "We play (Naperville) Central this week so it's pretty easy to get up and get excited about that game."

So what is so different about playing crosstown rival Naperville Central?

"It's just a really fun game. Just the whole experience is pretty special and we play it at North Central College and it's always packed. It's a really fun atmosphere and everyone just gets after it and goes as hard as they can. It's a special game."

Calcagno also recapped his latest recruiting news so far this fall.

"I've stayed in touch with NIU the most. My head coach (Sean Drendel) has also been talking with some coaches from the Big Ten and the MAC schools. Purdue is probably the Big Ten school that is showing the most interest for now. I was able to get over to NIU when they played Eastern Illinois a few weeks ago but that's been my only visit."

Don't look for Calcagno to make his college decision anytime soon.

"I'm just happy to play out the season and then look at all of my options once the season is completed."

Nick Calcagno has offers from NIU, SEMO, Indiana State and SIU.
