Naperville (Ill.) North junior wide receiver recruit Nick Calcagno (6-foot-3, 207 pounds) was able to add his first offer this past weekend. Calcagno made a weekend visit to Southern Illinois University and came away with his first offer. Calcagno talks about his first offer, his recent visits and more here.

"I was able to add an offer from SIU," Calcagno said. "I visited SIU this past Saturday for a Junior Day. I also made recent visits to Iowa State and Western Michigan and those visits went well."

Calcagno talked about adding his first offer and visit to Southern Illinois University on Saturday.

"I went down to SIU on Saturday for a Junior Day. I spent a lot of time talking to SIU wide receivers coach Nick Williams before and after the scrimmage. I was able to take a full tour of the facilities and I was really surprised at how nice everything was at SIU. They have great facilities and a great stadium. I also really liked the campus and it feels great to get my first offer from SIU. I'm hoping to get back for another visit to SIU again soon."

Calcagno recapped his recent stops to Iowa State and Western Michigan.

"Iowa State was just so nice and I loved it there. Iowa State campus has been my favorite one so far. They have a beautiful campus and great facilities at Iowa State. I was able to watch a spring workout and I was also able to spend a lot of time talking to my recruiting coach Alex Golesh at Iowa State. I was at Iowa State with a smaller group of kids so we had a ton of personal attention. I was able to see the whole campus and it was just a great visit. Iowa State said that they want to come see me workout this spring in school and they seem pretty interested."

"Western Michigan was also a really nice visit. One of my coaches at my school played with Western Michigan head coach Tim Lester in high school. I was abled to tour the facilities at WMU and I was also able to talk to the coaches including my recruiting coach Eric Evans. Western Michigan also said that they would be in school this spring."

So what's next for Calcagno?

"I'm flying out Tuesday night and I'm going to visit North Dakota State on Wednesday. I might also visit North Dakota and then I'm visiting Western Illinois for a night practice on Thursday."

Nick Calcagno has a scholarship offer from Southern Illinois University.
