Castro draws new looks

Oak Lawn (IL) Richards junior three star ranked safety recruit Sebastian Castro (6-foot-1, 198 pounds) and the Bulldogs (4-2) have won two straight games and is looking to secure a state playoff spot this week hosting Evergreen Park. Castro recaps his season so far along with his latest recruiting news here.

"We have been playing pretty well all season," Castro said. "We lost two games and we had a chance to win both of those games. We just try to learn from those losses and go back to work and get better."

Castro has also adjusted to playing on both sides of the football this season, the first year Castro has started at both quarterback and safety.

"Playing on both sides of the football can take a lot out of you but I also love just staying out on the field and playing both ways. I've been playing pretty good but I know I can get better and that's why drives me."

Castro was also able to make a recent visit to Iowa.

"I went to Iowa for the game against Penn State and it was a great game and experience. I really liked it at Iowa. Iowa has great fan support and I was able to get on the field for pregame. I was able to also talk top the Iowa defensive line coach (Kevin Bell) and he said that Iowa has a spot for me and that they are really excited about me."

Does Castro have any other college game day visits planned?

"Minnesota has a night game in two weeks (against Michigan State) so I'm going to try to visit Minnesota for that game."

So has anyone else started to show Castro new recruiting interest?

"I've started talking with the coaches from Kentucky, Central Michigan and also Purdue. I also talk regularly with the coaches from Minnesota, Iowa and Iowa State."

Sebastian Castro has scholarship offers from Iowa, Minnesota, Syracuse and Indiana.
