DB Aitken is on the rise

Chicago (Ill.) Kenwood junior cornerback prospect Mark Aitken (5-foot-9, 170 pounds) had an impressive 2017 junior season and Aitken has seen his recruiting stock continue to rise. Aitken takes a few minutes to update us on his latest recruiting news here.

"Recruiting has been going well," Aitken said. "I've been able to get out and visit a handful of schools in person and all of those visits went well."

Aitken, who is playing 7on7 with HeroH this winter recapped his latest recruiting news.

"I have been in touch the most with the coaches from NIU, Toledo and Miami of Ohio. I also went and visited all three schools already and I liked what each school has to offer. A lot of those coaches said they want to come back into school this spring and see me workout in person. I've also been hearing that more schools also plan to be in my school this spring."

Does Aitken have any plans to visit any other schools?

"I'm heading to Illinois for a visit this weekend. Illinois has also been in touch and I'm pretty excited to see Illinois in person and see what they have to offer."

So Aitken, who will also running track for Kenwood this spring working on this off season to improve his overall game?

"I'm really working on becoming a better team player and trying to help everyone around me become better. I'm personally always working on getting faster and stronger. I feel that I'm a pretty physical player and I just want to keep working on my cover skills and keep playing physical."

So what would Aitken like college coaches know about him that they might not see on his video this winter?

"I feel that I will never let someone beat me twice. If someone does beat me I'll learn from it right away and work even harder to be better the next time around."
