DB Evans impressed on Monday

LaGrange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy junior defensive back prospect Diamond Evans (6-foot-0, 185 pounds) took part in the Boom Midwest Presidents Day 7on7 and was one of several top standout performers. Evans checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news here.

"I don't have any offers yet but I've been staying in touch with more and more schools," Evans said. "I've been able to get out to make a few college visits and the feedback from the colleges that have been in touch has been positive."

Evans, who played receiver and some defensive back for the Road Runners and head coach Tim Racki in 2017 recapped his latest recruiting news.

"I've been in touch with the coaches from Northwestern, Miami of Ohio, Iowa State, North Dakota, South Dakota and Yale. They all wanted me to make a visit and see each school in person."

Has Evans been able to make any recent college campus visits so far this winter?

"I've been able to visit both Iowa State and also Miami of Ohio not too long ago. The feedback from the coaches at each school was good. They like how I play and they feel that I would be a good fit in their defense. Both Iowa State and Miami of Ohio want me to remain in touch and they also want me to go back for a visit this spring."

Evans, who is also running track as well as playing for Boom Midwest 7on7 this spring has at least one more upcoming visit in mind.

"I'm planning to head out to Yale to taken a campus visit on March 2nd. That's the only visit I have planned for now but I'm hoping to see some more schools later this spring."

In the meantime Evans has been focused on school along with improving his overall game this winter.

"I've been working on my back peddle and getting quicker feet and quicker hands. I'm also lifting hards with my team and I'm just always trying to get better."
