DB Lee is opening eyes

Aurora (Ill.) Waubonsie Valley junior cornerback prospect Derric Lee (6-foot-0, 170 pounds) has been impressive this off season and has been drawing more and more recruiting looks this spring.

"I'm running track this spring along with playing for Boom 7on7," according to Lee. "I'm also just excited for the season and we have a chance to be pretty strong this year."

Lee recapped his latest recruiting news.

"I've been getting a lot of camp invites. Penn State, Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern and Central Florida have all invited me to camps this summer. I've also been in touch with Miami (OH), Central Michigan and Indiana. I've been able to visit Indiana a few times already along with Northwestern."

Will Lee camp anywhere this summer?

"I'm planning to camp with Purdue, Illinois and Northwestern along with Penn State. I also have family down in Florida and I'm looking at camping with Central Florida."

Does Lee have a dream school?

"I've always liked UCLA. It's located in a great area of the country and California is just a sweet state. UCLA offers a great education and they also have a ton of tradition. i'm very open when it comes to my recruiting but no doubt that UCLA has always been one of my favorites."

Lee is also excited about his upcoming junior season.

"We have a lot of kids back this season. We had 6 sophomores start for us on defense and we also have 9 starters back on defense. We have a strong core back."
