DB Shine adds new offers

Chicago (Ill.) St. Rita junior defensive back recruit Kempton Shine (5-foot-11, 176 pounds) is having a good spring recruiting process. Shine has added several FCS level scholarship offers and checks in and discusses his latest recruiting news here.

"Recruiting has been good," Shine said. "We've been seeing a lot of college coaches in schools lately. I also was able to add new offers from SIU and North Dakota State."

Shine, who is now holding five scholarship offers filled us in on some of his recent in school college visitors.

"Lately I've seen the coaches from South Dakota State, Purdue, Northern Iowa, Illinois State, Montana State plus several D2 schools. We see some of the coaches at our workouts and other times they just stop into school at different times. The feedback from the college coaches has been positive and those same coaches want me to camp with them this summer. "

Shine has begun to set up his college camp plans.

"I'm all signed up to go to the Lindenwood satellite camp on June 2nd. I'm also going to camp at North Central College, NIU plus the Northwestern Showcase camp along with the Miami of Ohio camp. I'm also thinking about heading down South and hit a few camps. I'm thinking about camping at a school like LSU. I just want to go down there and see how I can matchup against those kids."

Look for Shine to also make a few college visits as well this summer.

"I want to head out to North Dakota and see a few of the schools who have offered me already. I don't have a date just yet."

Does Shine have a time frame for making his college decision?

"I'm not in any hurry to make a decision for now. I just want to see how the camps go for me this summer. I just want to see how it all plays out then I'll look harder at everything."

Shine is also ready to get back to work with his team this summer.

"We finish school next Wednesday so the summer and team campo is coming up pretty soon. We should be pretty nice this year. A lot of people have been sleeping on St. Rita and they better wake up because we will be strong this year."

Kempton Shine has scholarship offers from SIU, North Dakota State, North Dakota, Eastern Kentucky and Indiana State.
