DE James checked out WMU

Oswego (Ill.) East junior defensive end recruit Elijah James (6-foot-5, 248 pounds) made a recent visit to Western Michigan. James fills us in on his first impressions from Kalamazoo, Michigan and much more in this latest recruiting update.

"I visited Western Michigan last weekend," James said. "They have been in touch with me for a while now and they wanted me to come out and visit."

James came away impressed with Western Michigan on his first visit.

"The visit to Western Michigan went good. I was able to watch a spring practice and I was also able to talk with the coaches at WMU. The practice was intense and very energetic. I really like the coaches at Western Michigan. Western Michigan also has a great family atmosphere and the players and the coaches seem to get along well. I also like the academics offered at WMU."

James has remained in touch with a handful of schools.

"Besides Western Michigan I've been talking with the coaches from all of the schools who have already offered me (WMU/Central Michigan/Miami of Ohio) plus Penn State, Ball State, Wyoming and NIU."

So what's up next for James?.

"I'm going to get out to NIU soon fora visit. I visited them once earlier this spring and I want to get back out and visit with the coaches."

Elijah James has scholarship offers from Central Michigan, Western Michigan and Miami of Ohio.
