"My recruiting has been going pretty well," Pelland said. "I also really enjoyed the showcase. It was a good event and it was fun to just go out and compete against kids from all over the state."

Pelland, who carries an impressive 4.6 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) recapped his latest recruiting news.

"We've been starting to see some of the college coaches coming back into school over the last week or so. Western Michigan, Michigan State and Northwestern have all been in school so far. I've also been in contact with those schools along with several Ivy League schools like Princeton, Yale and Harvard. Most of the college coaches want me to camp with them this summer. Some of those same schools also have invited me to make visits including Western Michigan and Princeton."

So does Pelland have a dream school?

"My dream school would be Northwestern. I've been a fan of Northwestern ever since I started high school. Northwestern just offers amazing academics along with a great football program. Northwestern is also very close to home and they really have a lot to offer."

So what has Pelland been working on to improve his overalll game this winter?

"I've been focused on improving my overall skill development. I'm trying to get quicker and just improve my overall defensive linemen skills and technique. I've only played defensive line now for just one year so I have a lot to learn."

Pelland is also excited for his 2018 senior season.

"We bring back a lot of starters from last year. Also our younger classes are really strong and we have a chance to be a very good team next year."
