DT Dunn will decide in May

LaGrange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy junior defensive tackle recruit Devonte Dunn (6-foot-1, 261 pounds) is planning to make his college choice sometime in May, and Dunn fills us in on his plan and much more.

"My family and I have been giving this some thought for a long time now," Dunn said. "The plan is for me to make a college choice sometime in may before the summer gets started. I want to be able to enjoy my senior year of high school."

Dunn, who has eight scholarship offers so far this winter walked s through his planned time line for a college decision.

"I'm going to start getting out to different schools and making visits next month. I just want to be able to enjoy my senior year and not have to worry about recruiting. I already have offers from some great schools and I'm just excited to get out to learn more about the different schools. I still have no idea on who I'm going to visit but I'll start that soon. I'm also going to narrow things down to a Top 5 schools list in April and move forward from there."

So what will Dunn be looking for in a potential school?

"Team chemistry will be very important to me. I'm looking at how well the players and the coaches interact with each other. I also want to see how well I fit in with the coaches and the players on the team. It's also just going try to find a school that's the best overall fit for me."

Distance also will not be a factor for Dunn.

"Distance really isn't much of an issue. I'm willing to travel away from home if that means finding a school that's the best fit for me."

Devonte Dunn has scholarship offers from Illinois State, Indiana State, Buffalo, Miami of Ohio, North Dakota State, Toledo, Western Michigan and Wyoming.
