DL Griffin adds an NIU offer

Homewood (Ill.) Flossmoor senior defensive linemen recruit Jeff Griffin (6-foot-2, 260 pounds) was able to recently add an offer from Northern Illinois University after having an impressive camp performance recently on campus at NIU.

"It's was great getting an offer from NIU," Griffin said. "I went to NIU for a one day camp a few weeks ago and I felt that I did well and so did the NIU coaches. They called me earlier this week and offered me."

Griffin, who played on the Vikings offensive line last season discussed his impression of adding his latest offer from the in-state NIU Huskies.

"NIU is really close to home plus I also have some friends who already play for and go to NIU for school. They all say that NIU is a good place and a good school. NIU is a program back on the rise and I also really like the coaches at NIU including the defensive line coach (Brett Diersen). I got along great with Coach Diersen at the one day camp and NIU is a great offer. I definitely plan to get back up to NIU to see more of the school and the campus soon."

So what's next for Griffin?

"North Dakota State has really been trying to get me out to a camp later this week but it's getting hard to find a way out there. I'm planning to camp at Indiana State on Sunday. I'm also set to go to the SIU Big Dawg linemen camp on July 14th. I wanted to also go to the Benedictine College satellite camp on Thursday but I'm in the middle of our team camp and my team comes first so I can't make that camp."

Griffin is also excited about his upcoming senior season.

"Everyone is really getting after it in team camp. It's pretty exciting and we have a chance to have a big season."

Jeff Griffin has scholarship offers from NIU, Indiana State and South Dakota.
