DT Shannon a camp standout

Oswego (Ill.) junior defensive tackle recruit Noah Shannon (6-foot-1, 300 pounds) has been very impressive this summer at various one day camps. Get to know this latest name to watch from the growing Class of 2018 in the State of Illinois here.

"I camped at Illinois today (Sunday)," Shannon said. "I also camped at both North Central College satellite camps and all three camps I felt went really well and I got great feedback from the coaches."

Shannon recapped his latest camp performance at Illinois.

"I thought I had a good day at Illinois. I didn't lose any one on ones and I was able to take several reps. I started off in the junior group of linemen then the Illinois coaches moved me over to work with the senior group. They had a lot of kids at the Illinois camp and it was also good competition. I was able to talk to Coach (Luke) Butkus who recruits my area and he said he was going to try to get me at Illinois. The Illinois State coaches also said they would get a hold of my coaches at school and let me know when to call them back."

Does Shannon have any additional camp plans?

"I'm going to camp sometime soon at Michigan State. I'm also considering going to camp at Iowa State or NIU. The coaches at Iowa State really liked my camp at North Central College and NIU has been interested in me for awhile now."

Have the various one day camps helped Shannon so far this summer?

"Definitely. It's fun going against great competition and the coaches have also been working with me on how I can improve my overall game. Just getting more reps this summer is a big advantage."
