DT Spivak recaps weekend visit
Lombard (Ill.) Montini Catholic senior defensive tackle recruit Joe Spivak (6-foot-1, 292 pounds) was able to make a weekend unofficial visit to Princeton. Spivak checks in and talks about his recruiting along with the Broncos (5-3) turnaround and much more here.
"I went out to Princeton this past weekend for an unofficial visit with Niko Ivanisevic from Hinsdale Central," Spivak said. "It was my first visit out East and I had a great time."
Spivak filled us in on his impressions from Princeton.
"It was my first visit to Princeton so I just wanted to get a feel for them and the surrounding area. Princeton's campus and the town was just unreal. It was easily the most beautiful campuses I've seen in person so far. I was able to go watch the game and get to know some of the coaches and the team better. Overall it was a good visit and I have a much better feel for Princeton and what they have to offer."
So what's up next for Spivak?
"I'm going to Northwestern this Saturday. We start the state playoffs next weekend so that makes it hard to schedule anything in advance. A lot of times you'll end up playing on a Saturday. I'm still not sure on official visits or really which schools I'll visit to be honest. I have time right now before I make a decision."
Spivak has also remained in with several schools this fall.
"I still talk to all of the schools who have already offered me along with schools like Northwestern, Wyoming and Missouri. They all want me to stay in touch and come visit them for a game."
So how was Montini (5-3) about to turn it's season around after a 1-3 start?
"We had a lot of things to piece together and non one gave up. We just came together as a team and started trusting each other. Everyone has a job to do and it was really a case of just doing your job and trusting that the guy next to you will do the same."
