About Jack Sanborn: Jack Sanborn will be a three year varsity starter for the Bears in 2017. Sanborn is a back to back all area, all conference and EDGYTIM All State player in both 2015 and 2016.

EDGY's Take: Jack Sanborn is easily one of the top overall recruits in the Illinois Class of 2018 and is also the state's top linebacker recruit over the past few seasons. Sanborn has a great mix of size, speed and instincts and is just an experienced linebacker who's game seems to improve every time I see him live. Sanborn excels at sniffing out the run and is a top notch finisher who brings a serious wallop and big time hitter. Sanborn has good speed and is no question a sideline to sideline player who also does well in fighting off traffic and making tackles. Sanborn also makes very good reads and anticipates plays as well as any linebacker in this class. Sanborn also has the overall size/frame top add even a bit more strength at the college level.

Could improve upon: Sanborn, like most linebackers will need to work on dropping into coverage and improve his overall cover skills. Sanborn, like all linebackers can also improve his overall speed and first step for the college level.

EDGY's Early Evaluation: Jack Sanborn to me is simply about as college ready right now than any other linebacker in this class. Sanborn hits the positive check marks for every category when it comes to the skills and tools your looking for in a high level Power 5 inside linebacker prospect. Colleges are lining up for many goos reasons in landing Jack Sanborn. I love Sanborn's motor and game and is also a kid who truly loves the sport and who truly loves playing the game. In a day and age where I truly wonder how many of these kids really love the sport...I have zero concerns regarding Sanborn's passion. From a rankings perspective? Sanborn to me starts off as a low to mid 4 star and will also be a Top 5-10 in the in-state 2018 state of Illinois recruit ranking. Sanborn has a chance to develop into a longer term starter and a potential multi-year starter at the Power 5 level.
