Green is Orange and Blue

East St. Louis (Ill.) senior three star ranked safety recruit Stanley Green (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) gave Illinois his verbal commitment this morning after taking an official visit this weekend. Green talks about his decision here.

"I'm driving back home now from Illinois," Green said. "I just had a great visit this weekend and gave the Illinois coaches my commitment before we headed back home."

Green talked about why he decided to pledge to the Fighting Illini.

"I really didn't know what to expect before my official visit this weekend. Once I got on campus and around the team I was able to see how everyone loves the school and how it's just one huge family at Illinois. Illinois just has so much to offer not only from the football side but in life so I committed."

Green joins his teammate Trevour Simms as a verbal pledge to the Illinois Class of 2016.

"Having Trevour at Illinois is big. Just having a person I know who has the same mission as I do really made me want to join him at Illinois."

Green did have one more official visit in mind but has yet to set up a date just yet.

"I was planning to make an official visit to Iowa State. I'm still not sure on that and I haven't set up any date yet ."

Stanley Green is verbally committed to Illinois.
