Henderson draws interest

Carol Stream (Ill.) Glenbard North junior three star ranked cornerback recruit Tyrik Henderson (5-foot-11, 160 pounds) is coming off a tough Week 2 loss to rival Waubonsie Valley. Henderson discusses his season so far along with his latest recruiting news and fall visits here.

"Watching the game tape was terrible," Henderson said regarding the Panthers 29-28 loss last Friday to Waubonsie Valley. "We need to play all four quarters and we need to close out games. Our big emphasis will be to finish this week. I can't wait to get back out there and get back to work."

Henderson has also been drawing recruiting interest and contact since September 1st, the first day college coaches could make unlimited electronic contact with 2018 recruits.

"I've had contact with Michigan State, Syracuse, Indiana, Penn State and Iowa so far. All of those coaches just wanted to make contact and let me know that they are recruiting me and for me to stay in touch with them. A lot of the same coaches also want me to come and see a game in person this fall."

Henderson is hoping to get out and see at least a few college games in person soon.

"I was planning to go to the Missouri game when they play Georgia but we play Thornton on that same day. I'm still going to get out to Missouri along with Illinois for a game. I also want to visit Iowa and possibly Syracuse. Oh and I'm planning to go to Michigan State for the Wisconsin game."

Henderson's focus for now however is helping get the Panthers back on the winning track.

"So far this season I'm playing alright. I played better in Week 1 compared to this past game. I need to get back at it and get better from here on out for my team."

Tyrik Henderson has scholarship offers from Central Michigan, Missouri, Purdue, South Dakota State and Toledo.
