Hockaday recaps IU visit

Maroa-Forsyth (Ill.) junior athlete prospect Jack Hockaday (6-foot-1, 200 pounds) made an unofficial visit to Indiana and Sunday and walked away with his second Big Ten offer so far this summer. Hockaday recaps his visit and offer and more here.

"I added an offer today (Sunday) from Indiana," Hockaday said. "My Dad and I drove down to watch a practice. It's still pretty unreal that I have another offer from such a great school like Indiana. I had a very good visit and it's been a great day."

Hockaday recapped his first ever visit to Indiana.

"I really liked it at Indiana. My Dad and I got down there about an hour before the start of practice so we looked around the campus and some of the surrounding area. The campus at Indiana is really nice and so is the town around the campus. We went to the practice and I was able to get a full tour of the facilities which are just amazing. They might have the biggest weight room I've ever seen. All of the facilities at Indiana are just very impressive and it seems like everything is brand new."

Hockaday also came away impressed with the staff at IU.

"I was able to talk to some of the coaches at Indiana and I spent most of the time talking to the linebackers coach (William Inge). The IU coaches are all very positive and upbeat and they seem highly motivated to turn things around at Indiana. Indiana offered me as a Buck linebacker in their defense which is a hybrid outside linebacker/safety type. It's exciting to have an offer from Indiana I'll definitely stay in touch with them and look more into the school soon."

Hockaday is hoping to make a few college games this fall.

"I still haven't set anything up yet but I plan to get that done pretty soon. I want to visit Iowa and Indiana during the season and I might add a few other."

Hockaday is also excited about the Trojans chances in 2013.

'Practices gave been going well. We have a really good team back this season and I think we graduated just four kids from last year (Class 1A state championship team). We just need to stay focused and get our work done and not get too full of ourselves and we'll be fine."
