K/P Mihalic adds Air Force offer

Niles (IL) North senior kicker/punter recruit Nick Mihalic (5-foot-11, 170 pounds) was able to add his first scholarship offer on Thursday from Air Force. Mihalic checks and and discusses adding his first offer and more here.

"It's very exciting to add my first offer from Air Force," Mihalic said. "I had been staying in touch with the Air Force coaches over the past month or so. The area recruiting coach for Air Force wanted to talk to me today (Thursday) and that's when they offered me."

Mihalic discussed his thoughts on Air Force.

"I know that Air Force requires you to serve once you graduate from the Air Force Academy. I'm definitely going to look harder into Air Force. They want me to come out and visit soon and I do know that they offer a great education. Air Force invited me out to visit them on July 23rd and I'm trying to see if my family can make it out that day."

Mihalic has also camped at several college one day camps so far this summer.

"It seems like I've been everywhere this summer for camps. I've camped at schools like Alabama, Minnesota, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Michigan State and several others. Minnesota has offered me a preferred walk on offer. Michigan State also seemed very interested and I thought I killed it at the camp so I'm waiting to hear from them."

Mihalic, who is ranked by Kohl's as the nation's #5 ranked punter is also more of a punting and kickoff specialist.

"I kick field goals for my school but the colleges are looking at me as more of a kickoff and punting specialist. I get really good height and distance on both my kickoffs and punts and I feel that I'm pretty consistent on my punts."
