Katrenick enjoyed QB Challenge
Algonquin (Ill.) Jacobs junior three star ranked quarterback recruit Chris Katrenick (6-foot-2, 195 pounds) took part in the Rivals QB Challenge in Ohio on Sunday. Katrenick fills us in on his camp performance and more in this latest recruiting update.
"I went out to the Rivals QB Challenge on Sunday in Ohio," Katrenick said. "Besides the cold weather the camp was a good time and a good overall experience."
Katrenick discussed his Rivals QB Challenge impressions.
"Overall I thought I did pretty well. I didn't make the final cut but overall it was still a great experience. It's always good to get out and compete against several of the top quarterbacks in the Midwest. It's a great chance to see how well you measure up again the other guys. It's also good to meet some new people and it's always a positive experience because everyone roots for each other."
Katrenick is now gearing up for a busy spring evaluation period.
"I'm done making visits. We are expecting several college coaches to come into school starting next week. A lot of the coaches want to come in and see me throw. I know that Cincinnati will be in school on May 3rd and they said that they would make a decision on whether they will offer me or not shortly after they stop in school. I've stayed in touch with Cincinnati along with Bowling Green, Miami of Ohio, Toledo, Buffalo plus I have offers now from North Dakota State and Illinois State."
Does Katrenick have any favorites and a time frame for making his college choice?
"I have a few favorites but I'm not going to release them for now. I want to see how the spring evaluation period goes but I'm also planning to make my decision before June 1st. I want to be done with my recruiting before we start our summer team camp."
Chris Katrenick has scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Buffalo, Miami of Ohio, Virginia, North Dakota State and Illinois State.
