Kimbrough recaps CMU decision

Homewood (Ill.) Flossmoor senior offensive guard recruit Jamezz Kimbrough (6-foot-3, 250 pounds) had a good feeling about Central Michigan from very early on. That good feeling about CMU never left Kimbrough, who ended jhis recruiting process and gave the Chippewas his verbal commitment over this past weekend.

"I felt it was time to make a decision," Kimbrough said. "I waited a bit but it really came down to where I felt comfortable and that was with Central Michigan so I called up the CMU coaches and committed."

Kimbrough discussed why he ended pledging to Central Michigan.

"I waited a bit and looked hard at all of my options. I just always liked Central Michigan the best and it went back to my first junior day visit. I just always felt comfortable with the coaches at Central Michigan. I have been to CMU twice and both times I had a great visit. I like the campus and the surrounding area. Coach Bono (John Bonamego) and the rest of the coaches are just great guys and they just treat the players like family."

Kimbrough looked back and had a good feeling about the Chippewas after landing his first offer from Central Michigan.

"Central Michigan was my first offer and they showed a lot of faith in me. I was really excited about getting my first offer from them and I was just as excited when I made my first junior day visit. My family and especially my Mom and Dad are excited for me and excited about Central Michigan."

Kimbrough can now focus on his upcoming senior season.

"Our team camp has been going pretty good. I'm just glad to be back together with the guys. We are starting to get the offense figured out now and we'll be ready to go. I'm also going to play both ways this season. I'm going to play defensive end along with playing on the offensive line."

Jamezz Kimbrough is verbally committed to Central Michigan.
