Kotopka talked about why he pledged to GVSU.
"I just had a great official visit and it was just a lot of fun. GVSU has a great school and a great tradition. They are a power program in D2 and they just have a lot to offer. GVSU has great facilities and also a great campus. They honestly just blew me away with everything they have to offer on and off the field. I'm just really excited about my decision and I can't wait until Signing Day."
Kotopka also pointed towards the overall roster situation at GVSU as another factor in his choice.
"Overall it looks like a promising situation for me from a depth standpoint. I would need to compete for playing time at any school but GVSU graduates a few seniors. I definitely want to work hard and come in ready to compete for playing time early."
Kotopka is also thrilled to have his recruiting process completed.
"I'm very glad it's over. The worst part of the process is just having to wait on schools. They tell you to hang in there and then end up offering another kid or they just stop calling you. It gets frustrating but it worked out well for me."
Cole Kotopka is verbally committed to Grand Valley State.
