LB Dixon looks ahead

Wilmette (IL) Loyola Academy junior outside linebacker/defensive end prospect Armoni Dixon (6-foot-3, 218 pounds) and the Ramblers came up just short last Saturday, losing to Lincoln-Way East 23-14 in the Class 8A state championship game. Dixon reflects on his junior season and more in this recruiting update.

"It was a good game against Lincoln-Way East and we came up just a little bit short," Dixon said. "I loved playing with my guys and I'll miss playing with them. I feel bad for the seniors and it hit those guys really hard."

Dixon recapped his latest recruiting news.

"I didn't get a chance to get out to visit any colleges this fall. We play a lot of Saturday games and the dates just never worked out for me unfortunately. I still have an offer from Western Michigan . Penn State was in school earlier this week. I also have been in touch with Indiana and Northwestern wants me to come out to see a bowl practice once they find out which bowl game they will play in."

So what's next for Dixon?

"Hoops. I'm playing basketball again this winter so I'm taking this week off to recover then I'll be back at basketball practice on Monday. After basketball is over I'll do some 7on7 and also get back in the weight room."

So what will Dixon focus on improving this off-season?

"I want to be able to work on our overall team chemistry and help us form a bond. I want to also be a better leader for my team. In my own game I want to get bigger and faster and I also want to get out and visit some colleges in person."

Does Dixon have a dream school?

"I've always liked USC, but I also like Georgia, Auburn and several Big Ten schools."
