Harvey, who led the Warriors in tackles as Crete-Monee made it to the Class 6A state title game talked about his decision.
"I sat down with my parents and we talked about it. I just feel that Wyoming is the best fit for me. We just payed on it and today I knew that I was ready to commit to Wyoming. Wyoming is the place I need to be to succeed."
Harvey pointed towards his weekend official visit as a key in his decision.
"Wyoming was beautiful. I was excited when they offered me a few weeks ago but I still wanted to see what they had to offer. I really bonded with the players and the coaches at Wyoming. They have a newer staff in place and they have things headed in the right direction. The overall distance was a question early on but I figure that I'll be busy no matter where I go to school and the distance isn't a factor for me or my family. I loved the campus, the academics and the academic sport they offer for athletes. Wyoming also has a great stadium and the facilities at Wyoming are top notch. It's just a great fit."
Harvey is excited to have his college choice completed.
"I just feel blessed. It's been a wild season and getting to play 14 games with my brothers made it a magical season. Now I have a new family to go play football with and I couldn't be more excited."
Drew Harvey is verbally committed to Wyoming.
