LB Njongmeta showed out at UA

Lincolnshire (Ill.) Stevenson junior inside linebacker recruit Maema Njongmeta (6-foot-1, 210 pounds) was one of several in-state named who had a strong performance on Sunday the the regional Under Armour camp in Northbrook. Njongmeta recaps his latest football recruiting news and more in this recruiting update.

"Sometimes the process can be stressful but I'm also having a lot of fun with it so far," Njongmeta said. "I just take a minute sometimes and take a deep breath and realize that I'm in a very lucky position these days."

Njongmeta has been drawing a steady stream of college coaches so far this spring and recapped some of his recent in school visitors.

"About two weeks ago we had a bunch of the Big Ten schools in to visit. Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan State and Northwestern all came in. I also recently added offers from both NIU and Toledo. Kent State and Toledo have also started to show more interest. Michigan State is coming back for a second time later this week and so is Iowa State. I'm definitely getting a lot more interest from the Power 5 schools and it's pretty exciting."

Njongmeta has also been asked to camp at several Power 5 schools this summer. So does Njongmeta have any summer camp plans in mind?

"A lot of those Power 5 schools all want to see me at a camp this summer. Most of the bigger schools would like to see camp in person and also see how I react under a pressure situation in camps. I'm going to sit down and figure out which camps to go to along with my teammate 2020 RB JT Etienne and we plan to camp together and save some money on travel and carpool and just have fun at the different camps this summer."

Njongmeta is also getting excited for his upcoming senior season at Stevenson.

"The plan is to go 1-0 every single week. We know we have a lot of talented guys and guys who want to put in the extra work to get better. The 2018 season is going to be big and a lot of other schools are sleeping on us. My only message for them is to watch out."

Maema Njongmeta has scholarship offers from Army, Columbia, Princeton, Cornell, Dartmouth and Penn.
