LB Vanderburgh has a Top 3
Freeport (Ill.) senior outside linebacker recruit Zeke Vandenburg (6-foot-3, 211 pounds) has narrowed down his favorite schools list to a Top 3 and is planning to set up official visits to all three schools soon.
"It's been a rough season for us (1-6)," Vandenburg said. "I'm just working hard with my team to finish the season with a few wins."
Vandenburg talked about his latest recruiting news.
"I'm down to a Top 3 schools list. I'm focused on Illinois State, South Dakota and Western Illinois as my top three schools. I'm going to set up official visits to all three schools soon. I'm planning to take those official visits sometime in early December then I'll make my decision."
So what stands out to Vandenburg when it comes to Illinois State, South Dakota and Western Illinois?
"Illinois State would be a great fit for me academically. It's a great place to live and Illinois State has a well established football program."
"What South Dakota can offer their athletes is appealing and the football program seems to be on an upswing. I haven't been on the campus at all so I'm looking forward to making my official visit to South Dakota."
"Western Illinois has been recruiting me for a long time now. I love the coaching staff at WIU and the culture they are creating down there."
Zeke Vandenburg has scholarship offers from Illinois State, Western Illinois, Southern Illinois, North Dakota and South Dakota.
