Love talked about why he decided on Eastern Illinois.
"I just felt very comfortable at Eastern Illinois this weekend. I really like the new coaches at Eastern Illinois. I had a great talk with new head coach Kim Dameron along with the new defensive coordinator Kane Wommack. I feel like I'll be a good fit in the new defense for Eastern. I also got along great with the players and I already know a handful of guys on the team. I like the campus and the facilities and overall it just felt like home for me."
Love also admitted that stay closer to home was a big factor in his decision.
"It came down to either Eastern Illinois or South Dakota for me. Being able to play closer to home is a big factor, especially for my family. My family will be able too see me play now and I can also get home every once in awhile if I need to come home. I was sold on everything else at Eastern Illinois and for my family to be able to see me in college is great."
Love was recruited by the Panthers as a defensive end but will also be used in many different ways.
"EIU will use a 4-2-5 defense and they want me to play a standup defensive end. I'll be able to rush the passer but they will also drop me into coverage. It allows me to play to my skill set and be versatile which I really like."
Anthony Love is verbally committed to Eastern Illinois University.
