McPherson recaps SIU visit

Aurora (IL) Marion Academy junior quarterback/athlete prospect Brandon McPherson (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) was able to take a day away from his baseball season last last week and made a visit to Southern Illinois University. McPherson recaps his latest visit and more here.

"I was able to get down to SIU last Thursday for a visit," McPherson said. "I'm in the middle of my baseball season so it's been harder to get out lately but I had a day off and wanted to go see SIU in person."

McPherson discussed his visit to SIU last Thursday.

"I really liked the campus, the facilities and the stadium at SIU. I was able to meet the coaches at SIU including my recruiting coach Trevor Olson and they seem like great guys. SIU said they really like my versatility and that they could play me at any number of spots if they needed me to play. They also said they like the fact that I'm open to playing at another spot besides quarterback. My main position is quarterback but I also want to just have a chance to play anywhere I can help the team."

Anything catch McPherson's eye on his SIU visit?

"I was honestly surprised at how nice everything was at SIU. They have a great weight room and facilities and everything was pretty impressive at SIU."

McPherson is also hoping to get out to see a few more schools in person.

"I'm hoping to find a way of getting out to see a few more schools if not this spring then this summer. I'd like to see NIU, North Dakota State and Western Illinois."
