Mooney is drawing a crowd

Huntley (IL) junior athlete prospect Eric Mooney (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) has been impressive this spring on the camp circuit. Mooney, who is also running track this spring for the Red Raiders has also been drawing a ton of college coaches this spring. Get the latest recruiting news on Eric Mooney here.

"I'm running track right now and it's been going well," Mooney said. "I haven't been able to hit my goal just yet (10.7 100 meters) but I'm getting close. Recruiting has also been going well and we've already seen a lot of college coaches in school."

Mooney, who ran a 4.44 40 yard dash earlier this spring at the Rivals Speed combine filled us in on his latest recruiting news.

"Last week we had the coaches from Syracuse, Iowa, NIU, North Dakota State, Harvard, Princeton, Penn State, Indiana State and Wyoming. We have a Tuesday and Thursday team workouts and those bring in a lot of the college coaches. The feedback has been good from the college coaches. The only issue seems to be schools trying top figure out which position they feel I can play in college. I just keep working hard and balling out and that the only thing I can control."

Mooney is also starting to figure out his summer camp plans.

"I'm looking at camping with Syracuse, Penn State and also the Northwestern showcase camp. I'm going to go to the Elmhurst College satellite camp since Syracuse will be there. I'm also planning to camp at Illinois State in July."
