Mooney recaps latest visit

Huntley (IL) senior athlete recruit Eric Mooney (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) was able to get out and visit Northern Iowa, Mooney, who will report back to practices on Monday talks about his recent visit along with discussing his next steps in his recruiting process here.

"I went and visited Northern Iowa on Monday," Mooney said. "We've had the past two weeks off so I'm trying to look at some schools in person and get a better idea on them before we start the season on Monday."

Mooney discussed his first impression from Northern Iowa.

"I really liked it at Northern Iowa. It was basically an awesome visit. I was impressed with the coaches at Northern Iowa along with getting to meet and talk to some of the players and they seemed pretty cool. Northern Iowa also is pretty close to home so it's not too far from home. Northern Iowa also has really good facilities and overall it was one of the top schools that I've been able to visit so far. I really like both Northern Iowa and South Dakota the most right now but I'm not ready to make any sort of decision just yet."

So what's the next step in Mooney's recruiting process?

"I'm looking at playing out the season before making any decision, at least that's my plan for now. Several college coaches want to see some of my senior video. I've been in touch with schools like Wyoming, Northern Illinois, Northwestern and several other bigger schools. A lot of those schools have offers out but now but a lot can also change and they all want me to be patient"

Mooney is also excited about his upcoming senior season.

"We've been looking awesome this summer. We went away to Illinois Wesleyan for our team camp and everyone just came together and bonded. We had a great camp and everyone is ready to get going."
