More offers in for TE Ivy
Chicago (Ill.) Marist junior three star ranked tight end recruit TJ Ivy (6-foot-5, 217 pounds) has been able to add his a handful of recent scholarship offers including landing his first Big Ten offer this week from Indiana. Ivy discusses his latest offers and recruiting news here.
"Indiana offered me today (Monday)," Ivy said. "I also went to Miami of Ohio a few weeks ago and they also offered me when I visited."
Ivy discussed adding his latest offer on Monday from the Indiana Hoosiers.
"Indiana is a good school and the new coaches at Indiana have a good background. Coach (Mike) DeBord has experience working with tight ends at multiple college along with working with tight ends in the NFL. It's exciting to get my first Big Ten offer from Indiana. I'm planning to try to get out and visit Indiana, see the campus and and also get to know the staff better."
Ivy also was impressed with his recent visit to Miami of Ohio.
"I had a really good visit to Miami (of Ohio). I went to a junior day at Miami a few weeks ago. Overall, Miami was just an impressive place. They have a really nice campus and a brand new indoor facility. I was able to head down with a few of my teammates and it was just a fun day. I was also able to talk to several coaches at Miami, tour the campus and also talk to an academic adviser. I also liked how they split us up into groups by position. They only had 5 tight ends at the junior day so we had a lot of one on one time with the coaches. It was also able to pick up an offer from Miami of Ohio. It was great to get an offer but I had been talking with the coaches at Miami for awhile and told me they really liked me. I wasn't shocked to get an offer but it still felt great."
Ivy also seems to draw new recruiting looks almost weekly.
"I've been staying in touch with all of the schools who have offered me. I'm also starting to hear from Colorado State, Western Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Minnesota and Cincinnati. I have a visit planned to Tennessee on February 18th and that's the only visit I have set for now."
TJ Ivy has scholarship offers from Indiana, Miami of Ohio, Iowa State, Bowling Green, NIU, Ball State and Syracuse.
