New offers for Brummett twins

Decatur (Ill.) MacArthur junior athlete recruit Amir Brummett (6-foot-3, 185 pounds) and his twin brother wide receiver Armon Brummett added their third scholarship offer last week when they made an unofficial visit to Southern Illinois University. Amir Brummett talks about his latest offer and much more.

"We visited SIU for a spring practice a few weeks ago," Amir Brummett said. "We had a chance to sir down with the SIU coaches and that's when they offered us a scholarship."

Brummett filled us in on adding an offer and his impressions of the SIU Salukis.

"I liked it at SIU a lot. They had a pretty intense practice and then I had a chance to see the stadium, the facilities and also take a campus tour. I enjoyed getting to sit down to talk with SIU head coach Nick Hill and the rest of the coaches at SIU. They offered me as an athlete type of recruit and said they want to see how I grow and develop over the next year or so."

Does Brummett have any additional visits planned?

"Not yet. I'm playing baseball this spring so that makes it harder to get out to make visits.. I'm hoping to get a chance to get out and see a few more schools later this spring."

Brummett has also started to draw a handful of new recruiting looks this spring.

"I've started to hear from South Dakota, Syracuse and also Ball State. They all want me and my brother to come out to visit and see the spring game. I'm going to sit down and sort it all out soon."

Amir Brummett has scholarship offers from NIU, SIU and Illinois State.
