New offers in for OL Davidkov

Winnetka (Ill.) New Trier sopbhomore offensive tackle recruit David Davidkov (6-foot-6, 265 pounds) was able to add his first two scholarship offers this week. Davidkov checks in and recaps his latest offers and more in this recruiting update.

"I picked up an offer yesterday from Purdue," Davidkov said. "Western Michigan also offered me earlier in the week and it's been pretty exciting."

Davidkov discussed adding his latest offer from the Purdue Boilermakers.

"The offer from Purdue was pretty unexpected. My head coach (Brian Doll) had been talking with the Purdue coaches quite a bit so he has had most of the contact with the coaches. Purdue then contacted my head coach and that's when I found out about the scholarship offer. Purdue is a great school and it was great news to add an offer from them. I know that Purdue plays in the Big Ten and that they also offer great academics. I've also heard some really good things about Purdue and I'm actually going to visit Purdue this weekend for a visit. This weekend will be my first visit to Purdue and I'm looking forward to it."

Davidkov has also drawn more recruiting looks this early winter.

"Besides Western Michigan and Purdue I've also been in contact with the coaches from Northwestern, Michigan State, Iowa and Central Michigan. Both Iowa and Michigan State have invited me to come out and see them on campus this winter."

So what has Davidkov been up to so far this off season?

"I've been just back in the weight room and working out. I also started rugby practices. I've played rugby since I was in eight grade except for last spring because I wanted to focus on getting ready for football. We start practices now and then the season begins in the spring. I'm also planning to power lift this spring."

Davidkov is also filled us in on what part of his game he is working on to improve this off season.

"I'm work on my overall technique and hand placement. I also need to play more thru the whistle and also just get stronger and quicker this off season."

David Davidkov has scholarship offer from Western Michigan and Purdue.
