Offers coming in fast for Billingsly
Chicago (IL) Phillips junior tight end/defensive end recruit Jahleel Billingsly (6-foot-5, 230 pounds) was able to add three new offers last week including adding his first Big Ten offer from Illinois. Billingsly talks about his great week last week and more here.
"I was able to add offers last week from Illinois, Toledo and Central Michigan," Billingsly said. "I knew that the coaches from all three schools had been following me but I really wasn't too sure if any of them would offer me."
Billingsly is thrilled with his latest offers including adding his first offer from Illinois.
"I haven't had a chance to visit Illinois yet but I plan on going to visit them sometime soon. I've been following and watching Illinois for as long as I can remember so it's a pretty exciting offer."
Billingsly has also been talking with a handful of new schools.
"Last week I was in touch with coaches from Colorado State, Oklahoma State plus Penn State. I've been talking with the coaches from Penn State a lot over the last week or two."
So is Billingsly surprised at landing his recent offers?
"I'm really surprised. They (offers and college contact) are starting to come on really fast and all of a sudden. It's a great feeling but it's also a bit overwhelming. I guess I just need to take a little time to let it all sink in but it's been pretty exciting so far."
Does he have any upcoming visits in mind?
"I'm looking at getting out to visit a few schools like Iowa and Illinois. It's been hard to get out to visit schools so far because of my schedule."
Jahleel Billingsly has scholarship offers from Iowa State, Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue, Northern Illinois, Central Michigan and Toledo.
