Offers in for DB Henderson
Carol Stream (Ill.) Glenbard North junior cornerback recruit Tyrik Henderson (5-foot-11, 160 pounds) has been very impressive this summer in various college camps. Henderson has added three summer offers so far including his first Big Ten offer on Monday from Purdue.
"I went to visit Purdue today (Monday) and they offered me," Henderson said. "Purdue saw me workout at the North Central (College) camp and they asked me to come out and visit them today."
Henderson, who now has offers from the Boilermakers along with Central Michigan and South Dakota State is excited about his latest offer from Purdue.
"It feels awesome to get my first Big Ten offer from Purdue. I'm still pretty young and to have a school like Purdue offer me this early means a lot. It's means that Purdue has trust in me and that my hard work is starting to pay off."
Henderson was also impressed with his first on campus visit to Purdue on Monday.
"My visit went well and I really liked it at Purdue. I just like how the campus is set up and everything is pretty close together. I also like the facilities and I also get a long well with the Purdue coaches. Overall it was a good visit and I'm sure I'll be back for another visit sometime soon."
Henderson also has a few more camps planned for this summer.
"I'm planning to get out to Louisville and LSU later this summer. I also start my team camp on June 20th and we've been just working out for now and getting ready for team camp. I'm also going to the Pylon 7on7 Nationals at the end of the month with Boom."
So who else is starting to notice Henderson these days?
"Illinois has contacted my head coach (Ryan Wilkens) and they are starting to show some interest. Indiana also saw me at Sound Mind/Sound Body camp and they have been texting me."
Tyrik Henderson has scholarship offers from Purdue, Central Michigan and South Dakota State.
