OL Balanganayi checks in

Palatine (Ill.) junior offensive/defensive linemen prospect David Balanganayi (6-foot-4, 295 pounds) has been playing on both sides of the football this season for the Pirates (3-2). Balanganayi also fills us in on his latest recruiting news here.

"I'm playing on both sides this season and it's been an adjustment," Balanganayi said. "We have a big game this Thursday against Barrington (5-0) and it's always a big game every year. This year we play on Thursday so we've already started to prep for the game on Saturday."

Balanganayi discussed his latest recruiting news.

"I've been in touch and have contact with the coaches from Louisville, Purdue, Duke and a few other schools. All of those schools have been sending mail and texting me. Louisville and Purdue coaches said they just want to get to know me better. Duke has sent a recruit questionnaire for me to fill out."

Will Balanganayi get out to visit any college games this season?

"Louisville actually invited me to come out to see a game but the game last last week and I couldn't make it. I'm hoping to get a chance to get out to see a few schools but it's hard to get out during the season."

Balanganayi also talked about playing on the defensive line for the first time this season.

"Playing defensive line is definitely different compared to playing on the offensive line. I'm getting used to getting off the snap faster and just playing quicker on the defensive line and I'm getting more used to it. I also feel that I'm getting better on the defensive line."
