OL Cox adds more offers
Peoria (Ill.) junior three star ranked offensive tackle recruit Marques Cox (6-foot-5, 290 pounds) has been drawing steady recruiting looks and scholarship offers so far this winter. Cox checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news here.
"We just got our state championships rings," Cox said. "And my recruiting has been going pretty well. I have some nice offers so far and hopefully I can pick up some more soon."
Cox talked about his latest recruiting news.
"I have offers now from Iowa State, Ball State, Illinois State, Buffalo, Miami of Ohio and Western Illinois. I haven't been able to get out to make any visits lately. I've had been busy and it's been hard for me to get away from home lately. I've been making sure to let the colleges know that I want to visit them but it's just not been a good time to get away for now. I've been staying in touch with as many schools as I can. I'm hoping to get out to visit Minnesota soon and I also would like to get back out to Iowa as well."
Cox has also been drawing new recruiting interest from several new schools.
"Besides the schools who have already offered I've been in touch with Minnesota, Illinois, NIU and SIU along with a few smaller schools. They all want me to come visit them soon and they all tell me that they will come visit my school this spring."
Cox also talked about his latest piece of jewelry.
"The state title ring is really nice. Our coaches did a great job of designing it. I'm only going to wear it for special occasions. I'm going to always remember last year but now I'm focused on this coming season. I want to go out and win another state title ring. "
So can the Lions win another state title in 2017?
"We are working really hard in the weight room as a team. A lot of our guys are running track and also lifting. We have to fix some things but we also have a lot coming back. We are focused on finishing the school year strong in the class room. Once we finish the school year we can then focus on the summer and getting ready for the season."
