OL Diaz lands offer and talks favorites

Morris offensive line prospect Ramon Diaz (6-foot-4, 280 pounds) has added his fifth scholarship offer this summer, and Diaz also has begun to look at his college options and has named his favorites.

"I was planning to attend the Big Man camp at Miami of Ohio in late July," Ramon Diaz said. "Late last week I tweaked my hamstring, so I decided to not attend the camp. I'm feeling much better today, and I'll be ready to go at our camp shortly. I called and talked to the coaches at Miami of Ohio, and they said that they saw enough of me on tape and that they are offering me a scholarship."

"The coaches at Miami of Ohio are really excited about my abilities, and they are also excited about recruiting me. The coaches seem very nice, and I've heard some really good things about the school. I'm excited to get an offer from Miami of Ohio."

Diaz has also started to narrow down his list of favorite schools this summer.

"If Iowa offered me a scholarship, my recruiting process would be over. I really like Iowa a ton, and I'm hoping that the Iowa coaches will like me this fall as well. The coaches from Iowa and Northwestern said that they will be checking out one of my games in person this fall, and that's exciting."

The Hawkeyes and Wildcats aren't the only schools that Diaz is considering this summer.

"Both Indiana and Northern Illinois will be there for me until the end, and I'll most likely set up official visits later this fall for both schools."

Besides his recruiting, Diaz has one top priority on his mind this summer.

"I want to win a state title for Morris High School this year. That's the most important thing in the world right now for me. The recruiting stuff will take a back seat shortly, because we have very high goals to reach as a team this fall."

Ramon Diaz has received scholarship offers Miami of Ohio, Central Michigan, Ball State, Northern Illinois and Indiana University.
