OL Fay made a strong impression
Rockton (Ill.) Hononegah junior offensive guard prospect Paul Fay (6-foot-3, 285 pounds) took full advantage of his Rivals Camp opportunity on Sunday and was easily one of the top overall performers. Fay breaks down his camp thoughts and impressions along with filling us in on his latest recruiting news here.
"The Rivals Camp was my first big camp," Fay said. "I thought that the camp was run really well and that it had a high level of competition. It was an honor to compete with and against those guys."
Fay broke down his thoughts on his overall performance at the Rivals Camp on Sunday.
"I just love to play and I wanted to come out and play physical and aggressive right away at the camp. I worked really hard this winter on my overall technique along with keeping a good pad level and that really helped me out on Sunday. I also just try yo be mentally tough and I just get very focused and locked in. I also went through a life threatening last season and every time I'm able to go out and play I'm just thankful to get the chance to play."
Fay filled us in on his latest recruiting news.
"I have an offer from Missouri Baptist (NAIA) along with a roster spot offer from Wheaton College and that's where my Dad went to school. I've also been in touch with the coaches at South Dakota State, Western Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Cornell, Yale, Bucknell, NIU, UMass and also Boston College a little bit. I also noticed that some new coaches have started to follow me on Twitter since the camp which is exciting."
Fay is also gearing up for a busy summer.
"I'm going to be going to some college camps this summer and I have a few dates set already. I'm going to head out to Wisconsin on June 1st for a camp along with going to then NIU Big Dawg linemen camp on June 9th. I also want to head out to the East Coast and visit and camp at school like Holy Cross, Bucknell and Yale and maybe Boston College. I'm sure I'll also add a few more camp dates soon."
