OL Wentworth draws new looks

Minooka (Il) junior offensive guard prospect Derek Wentworth (6-foot-3, 277 pounds) just wrapped up his wrestling season and checks in and recaps his latest football recruiting news.

"Wrestling season just ended and I'm already back in the weight room," Wentworth said. "I'm already adding some weight back and I'm at 277 pounds right now. My goal is to get back to a good weight around 290 pounds or so."

Wentworth recapped his latest recruiting news update.

"I've been drawing some interest and contact from schools like Wyoming, South Dakota, SIU, South Dakota State and Miami of Ohio plus some small schools. Miami of Ohio invited me to a junior day but I had a wrestling meet."

Wentworth also has been trying to keep the Indians together as they await the hiring of a new head coach.

"We are in the weight room lifting as a team. I've been working on getting everyone together and back working together. I'm trying top be a bit more vocal as a leader since we still don't have a new coach. We are suppose to hire a new coach on Thursday at the school board meeting so hopefully we will have some new coaches in place soon."

Wentworth is also preparing for what he hopes is a busy spring and summer.

"I'm hoping to get out to some of the shoe camps this spring and then get ready for the college one day camps this summer."
