OLB Dwyer checked out Toledo

Lake Zurich (Ill.) junior outside linebacker prospect Luke Dwyer (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) was able to make a weekend visit to the University of Toledo for a junior day event. Dwyer recaps his visit and more in this recruiting update.

"I made my first college recruit visit to Toledo on Saturday," Dwyer said. "Overall it was pretty awesome. Toledo has just crazy nice facilities and it was just a really good experience."

Dwyer filled us in on his impressions after his first visit to Toledo.

"It was my first visit as a recruit to any school so far so everything great on my visit. I was able to get to talk with some of the Toledo coaches including linebacker coach Mike Ward plus my recruiting coach Robby Discher. Head coach Jason Candle also pulled me aside and said hello. We had a chance to see a team highlight video along with sit in with a players panel where everyone had a chance to hear the players talk about the school and just playing at Toledo. I was impressed with the facilities along with the academic support center for athletes. The Toledo coaches texted me afterwards on the way back home and invited me to come back out for a spring practice. Overall I thought it was a great visit and I learned a lot more about Toledo."

Dwyer also filled us in on his latest recruiting news.

"Besides Toledo I've been in touch with Penn, Duke and Yale. The coaches from NIU, Penn State, Eastern Kentucky and a few other schools have started to follow me on Twitter. I'm planning to get out to visit Yale in early March for a visit."

Dwyer has also remained busy this winter and filled us in on what he's been focused on in improving his game.

"I've been working with EFT and I'm playing some 7on7 with then this winter and spring. I'm really focused on just adding more size and good weight this winter."
